Chamomile tincture comes from immersing the earthly part of chamomile in an alcoholic solution (grappa), for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients of the above herbs are dissolved in the alcoholic solution resulting in the formation of the tincture.
Chamomile is a pure and well-known herb. The natural drops of chamomile have strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action, thus fighting viruses and bacteria. These characteristics are found mainly in Chamomile flowers and for this reason they are extracted in ethyl alcohol, attributing all their beneficial properties to the body. Chamomile tincture helps reduce skin diseases and the appearance of rashes. According to Committee E and ESCOP, Chamomile tincture is suitable for mucosal inflammations, stomatitis and bacterial skin diseases. In addition, Chamomile tincture has sedative and mild hypnotic properties as well as relaxes and acts as a muscle relaxant for abdominal pain. The antispasmodic action of the tincture is the cause that reduces the gastrointestinal discomfort and pains of the period.
