The Nettle tincture is made from soaking the leaves and flowers of the nettle in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
Nettle Tincture (Urtica dioica) is derived from the processing of this well-known plant. Recognized since ancient times, Hippocrates categorized nettle among the "panacea" plants, effective for various ailments. It shares the same properties as the herb Nettle.
In modern herbal therapy, nettle is primarily used to address acute and chronic nephritis or cystitis. It is considered extremely beneficial for those suffering from jaundice, gallbladder issues, stomach ulcers, bronchial diseases, and chronic diarrhea.
Nettle contains gallic acid, histamine, formic acid, chlorophyll, acetylcholine, serotonin, glycoquinones, numerous minerals (Calcium, Potassium, Manganese), vitamins A, B, C, and tannins. Nettles absorb minerals, including iron, from the soil and serve as a good tonic for anemia and rickets. The plant’s vitamin C content ensures the absorption of iron in the body. It is highly effective for detoxification and circulatory issues.
Herbal tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the plant, are particularly easy to take, and are entirely natural. They undoubtedly surpass dietary supplements in pill form, as they contain no chemicals or preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very potent and should be consumed according to the provided instructions. The usual dosage is 0.5-1ml (approximately 10-20 drops per day). They should not be consumed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The Nettle tincture is prepared in Greece under the strictest European standards, using exclusively pure and tested raw materials.
