The use of clay for therapeutic purposes is lost in the depths of history. We know that the Ancient Egyptians, the Aborigines of Australia, the Native Americans, the Indians, the Chinese, and even the Ancient Greeks and Romans used clay for healing purposes.
Rhassoul is a clay mined in eastern Morocco. It is essentially a type of volcanic clay, which is particularly rich in minerals and trace elements such as silicon oxide (58%), magnesium (25%) and calcium (3%).
Rhassoul has been used for over 1,400 years to care for hair and skin. It is considered, today, the most powerful clay for skin detoxification - for this reason it is widely used by most Luxury Spas in the world. Two independent studies in the United States have shown that the use of Rhassoul reduces dry skin, increases skin elasticity, removes unwanted oil (in cases of very oily skin) and removes dead cells.
Rhassoul is usually used in the form of a "beauty mask" (alone or in combination with essential oils). If you make soaps, Rhassoul will give unique properties to your "creations".
