The Calendula tincture is made from soaking the flowers of calendula in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
Calendula Tincture (Calendula arvensis) contains the same active components as the dried herb calendula. In modern herbal therapy, calendula is used "internally" (as a beverage) to treat ulcers and painful menstruation, and "externally" (as a compress) for wound care, burns, and insect bites. Calendula is considered an excellent herb for ulcers, gastritis, and gastrointestinal infections, and it is also believed to act as a digestive aid.
Additionally, calendula is reputed to be effective for severe pain and cramps during menstruation, likely due to its antispasmodic properties.
When used topically, calendula's properties—described as impressive by many herbalists—are known for their remarkable healing abilities, supported by its antiseptic and antibacterial actions. Thus, calendula is recommended by herbalists for treating acne, varicose veins, eczema, and skin tags.
Herbal tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the plant, are particularly easy to take, and are entirely natural. They undoubtedly surpass dietary supplements in pill form, as they contain no chemicals or preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very potent and should be consumed according to the provided instructions. The usual dosage is 0.5-1ml (approximately 10-20 drops per day). They should not be consumed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The Calendula tincture is prepared in Greece under the strictest European standards, using exclusively pure and tested raw materials.
