Liquid silk is rich in serine, a substance that has the ability to bind natural moisture within the skin and hair. Hair becomes less dry and brittle, reducing split ends, while the skin gains radiance, softness, and firmness. It also contains the protein fibroin, which is responsible for the soft and silky texture that liquid silk imparts to cosmetic formulations.

Silk amino acids can be used in nearly all cosmetic products. They are water-soluble and ideal for moisturizers, body butters, body lotions, cleansers, toners, as well as shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, lipsticks, and more. Liquid silk is typically used in cosmetics at a concentration of 1-2.5%.
