The Cimicifuga tincture is made by soaking the leaves, root, and flowers of Cimicifuga in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients from the herbs dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
In modern herbal medicine, Cimicifuga is primarily used to alleviate menstrual pain, nerve and muscle pain, and arthritis. The root of Cimicifuga contains resin (cimicifugin), bitter triterpenoid glycosides such as ranunculin (which converts to anemonin upon drying), salicylic acid, tannin, and estrogenic components. The herb acts as an emmenagogue, antispasmodic, soothing agent, and relaxant (thanks to anemonin). It has a strong relaxing effect on the female reproductive system and can be beneficial in cases of painful or delayed menstruation. It relieves cramps in the ovaries and uterus and regulates normal hormonal activity. Additionally, it is known for its use against headaches and tinnitus (ear ringing). Due to the salicylic acid it contains, it has anti-inflammatory properties and is useful in cases of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and sciatica.

Tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the herb, are particularly easy to take, and are completely natural. They undoubtedly surpass dietary supplements in pill form, as they do not contain chemicals or preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very potent, so they should be consumed according to their instructions. The usual dosage is 0.5-1ml (approximately 10-20 drops per day). They should not be consumed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
