The Passionflower tincture is made from soaking the flowers and leaves of the passionflower in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients of the plant dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
Passionflower Tincture (Passiflora incarnata) contains the same active ingredients as dried passionflower herb. In modern herbal therapy, passionflower is considered to have a mild yet particularly effective calming action. It is believed to affect the central nervous system by addressing disorders such as anxiety, melancholy, hyperactivity, and excessive nervousness. According to herbalists, consuming passionflower does not lead to addiction.
Some suggest that the calming properties of passionflower may also have an effect on muscles (muscle-relaxant property), and many writings indicate that consuming passionflower may help lower blood pressure. In various regions of Europe (e.g., Germany and Italy), the herb is used to relax "hyperactive" children.
Herbal tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the plant, are particularly easy to take, and are entirely natural. They undoubtedly surpass dietary supplements in pill form, as they contain no chemicals or preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very potent, so they should be consumed according to the provided instructions. The usual dosage is 0.5-1ml (approximately 10-20 drops per day). They should not be consumed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The Passionflower tincture is prepared in Greece under the strictest European standards, using exclusively pure and tested raw materials.
