The Centaury tincture is made by soaking the flowers of Centaury in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients from the herbs dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
Centaury is a valuable herb that aids digestion and stimulates the secretion of digestive fluids, which help break down food. Traditionally, it has been used to treat fevers. It also stimulates appetite and bile secretion, making it useful in cases of gastrointestinal atony, which manifests as difficult digestion.
Traditional Uses:
- Bitter tonic for the stomach
- Digestive stimulant
The action of centaury causes the "tightening" of the esophageal sphincter, which is particularly important in addressing symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux.
Properties:
- Enhances digestion
- Stimulates appetite
- Aids in bile secretion
Tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the herb, are particularly easy to take, and are completely natural. They undoubtedly surpass dietary supplements in pill form, as they do not contain chemicals or preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very potent and should be consumed according to their instructions. The usual dosage is 0.5-1ml (approximately 10-20 drops per day). They should not be consumed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The Centaury (Erythraea) tincture is made in Greece under the strictest European regulations, using only pure and tested raw materials.
