The Linden tincture is derived from the immersion of the above-ground parts of the linden in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients of the herb dissolve in the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
Linden, or Tilia, is one of the most popular herbs in Greece. Its name comes from the Greek word "tilos," meaning fiber, because the bark of the linden tree has countless fibers. To create the natural drops, linden is extracted in ethyl alcohol, maximizing the beneficial properties of the herb for the body. The E Commission recommends the flowers of the herb for dry coughs, bronchial issues, and colds. Additionally, linden tincture alleviates rheumatic and arthritic pains by dissolving uric acid. It can also be used preventively against arteriosclerosis and hypertension. According to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), linden tincture is known for its relaxing effect during moments of nervous tension. It also has a calming effect and influences the circulatory system, making it suitable for certain forms of migraine.
Tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the herb, are particularly easy to take, and are completely natural. They undoubtedly have an advantage over dietary supplements in pill form, as they do not contain chemicals or preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very potent, and for this reason, they should be consumed according to the instructions. The usual dosage is 0.5-1ml (approximately 10-20 drops) per day. They should not be consumed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The Linden tincture is prepared in Greece under the strictest European standards, using only pure and controlled raw materials.
