The Wild Rose tincture is derived from soaking wild rose in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients of the plant dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.

The fruit of the plant is rich in vitamins, minerals, dietary fibers, and nutrients. Specifically, it contains vitamins A, B, C, E, K, citric acid, ascorbic acid, flavonoid antioxidants, tannins, pectin, calcium, iron, silicon, selenium, sodium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, and zinc. The fruit is known for its high vitamin C content, approximately 50 times more than that of an orange.

The therapeutic properties of the plant have been known since ancient times. In AD 77, the Roman author Pliny recorded 32 disorders treatable with preparations from this plant. In Chinese medicine, it has long been used to treat kidney and urinary system issues, while in Ayurveda (the traditional Indian medical system), it is utilized as a tonic to increase energy and well-being. During World War II in Britain, when citrus imports were limited, wild rose was widely used as a vitamin C supplement for children.

In modern herbal medicine, it is used as an astringent, diuretic, tonic, and laxative with antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.
