Rosewood, scientifically named Aniba rosaedora, is an evergreen, tropical tree of medium size - up to 40 meters tall - endemic to Brazil and Peru, used mainly for timber. In folk medicine it is used by the Amazon Indians to heal wounds.
Rosewood Essential Oil comes from the steam distillation of the trunk of the tree and has a characteristic sweet, floral but also woody aroma, of high and medium note and pale yellow color, almost transparent. The main molecules of its chemotypic composition are Monoterpenols up to 95%: linalool, geraniol, Sesquiterpenes: α-copane and Oxides: cis linalool oxide, substances with strong antibacterial, tonic, antiviral and aphrodisiac action.
Rosewood essential oil stimulates mood, increases mental clarity, fights depression, stress and insomnia, helps self-concentration and meditation, while also displaying important aphrodisiac properties, effectively combating sexual impotence and coldness. An aromatic massage with Rosewood relieves tension, unblocks the energy points and helps to restore the internal balance, helping to harmonize the body with the spirit. Furthermore, it effectively helps to strengthen the immune system in reducing headaches, colds, coughs and fevers, while it also seems to relieve Jet lag.
