Organic Petitgrain Essential Oil is derived from the plant scientifically known as Citrus aurantium amara, commonly known as the bitter orange tree. This evergreen tree belongs to the citrus family and originates from China, later spreading to temperate and Mediterranean climates. The oil is obtained through steam distillation of the tree's leaves; historically, it was extracted from the green, unripe fruits of the tree, which were about the size of cherries, hence its name, which means "little grain."

The Organic Petitgrain Essential Oil has a pale yellow to amber color and a sweet, floral, slightly herbal aroma. The main chemical constituents include esters such as linalyl acetate, neranyl acetate, terpenyl acetate, and alcohols like linalool, nerol, and α-terpineol, which possess significant therapeutic value.

Recent studies have shown that Organic Petitgrain Essential Oil has important antimicrobial, antibacterial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, deodorizing, and calming properties. It cleanses and tones the skin, aiding in the treatment of acne and balancing oily or combination skin. Additionally, it is effective for alleviating hysteria, panic, depression, tachycardia, anxiety, and insomnia. The oil is also used to relieve respiratory infections and combat inflammation and pain. It is particularly useful as a massage oil for treating muscle spasms of a neurological nature, as well as arthritis, tendinitis, and rheumatism.

Organic Petitgrain Essential Oil exhibits antibacterial activity against staphylococcus and pneumonia-related bacteria, making it effective for treating acne and various irritations. In aromatherapy, it is valued for its balancing and stimulating properties against neurogenic dystonia, anxiety, sleep disorders, and general stress.

Combines excellently with: Bergamot, Clary Sage, Clove, Geranium, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Neroli, Orange, Palmarosa, Rosemary.
