The Organic Orange Essential Oil is obtained from the peel of the sweet Valencia orange (Citrus aurantium dulcis) through the process of cold pressing. In the outer spongy layers of the peel, small pockets store the essential oil, which can be easily extracted using machinery. The yield of essential oil from the plant material is between 0.4% and 0.5%.
The Organic Orange Essential Oil is a yellow to yellow-brown liquid with a fresh fruity aroma, characterized by citrus notes. It easily dissolves in alcohol (1:8, 90% ethanol), vegetable oils, and other essential oils, but does not dissolve well in water. The main component, making up to 95%, is limonene, along with lower concentrations of myrcene, citral, octanal, and decanal.
The components of Organic Orange Essential Oil have medicinal properties. Recent studies have shown that it has strong antiseptic characteristics. It can be used in the stomach during dyspepsia or administered internally. Additionally, it is suitable for disinfecting objects. For digestive cramps, loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, and general dyspepsia, it can be used as a bath oil or massage oil due to its antispasmodic properties and beneficial effects on gas dissolution. For inflammatory skin conditions (acne), it has anti-inflammatory action and can be used as a bath oil. It is also beneficial for combating cellulite due to its astringent properties.
In aromatherapy, Organic Orange Essential Oil is used as an additive in bath and massage oils for its relaxing effects against anxiety and nervousness, as well as insomnia and neurogenic dystonia via aromatic lamps. The scent creates a sense of emptiness and leads to deep relaxation.
This essential oil (Citrus aurantium dulcis) is known for its high nutritional value, rich in vitamin C and A, sugars, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus. It is effective against anxiety, depression, nervousness, insomnia, and other conditions related to the nervous system. A few drops are sufficient to tackle the problem in a safe and non-toxic manner. It can also be used in beverages (at a concentration of 0.10%), in sweets (at 0.30%), and in cosmetics (at 1%).
Mixed with rose water (50 drops of oil in 200ml of rose water), it makes an excellent facial toner, and when mixed with almond oil in the same ratio, it can be used as a moisturizing body oil after bathing.
Organic Orange Essential Oil blends well with: Lavender, Lemon, St. John's Wort, Melissa, Rosemary, and Sage.
