Patchouli, scientifically named Pogostemon cablin, is a shrub plant of the Heilanth family, endemic to the tropics of Asia, which according to botanical folklore has many health benefits. In Japan and Malaysia, it is used as an antidote for venomous snake bites, while Chinese medicine recommends the herb to treat headaches, colds, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
Patchouli essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the dried leaves of the plant and has a dark orange color, and a sweet, spicy and exotic aroma.
Patchouli essential oil by Herbstore.gr is an excellent product with a variety of therapeutic actions.
