Patchouli, scientifically known as Pogostemon cablin, is a shrub native to the tropical regions of Asia. According to botanical lore, it has numerous health benefits. In Japan and Malaysia, it is used as an antidote for poisonous snake bites, while traditional Chinese medicine recommends the herb for headaches, colds, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
The essential oil of Patchouli is extracted through steam distillation of the dried leaves and has a dark orange color, with a sweet, spicy, and exotic aroma.
The Patchouli essential oil from Herbstore.gr is an excellent product with a variety of therapeutic actions. It is recommended as a venotonic for edema, varicose veins, and heavy legs, and is believed to help reduce sweating and hot flashes during menopause.
