Organic Patchouli, scientific name Pogostemon cablin, is a bushy plant from the Lamiaceae family, native to tropical regions of Asia. According to botanical folklore, it has many health benefits. In Japan and Malaysia, it is used as an antidote for bites from venomous snakes, while traditional Chinese medicine recommends the herb for treating headaches, colds, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

The organic patchouli essential oil is extracted through steam distillation of the dried leaves of the plant, resulting in a dark orange liquid with a sweet, spicy, and exotic aroma.
