The Red Mandarin (Tangerine) is the fruit of the plant scientifically named Citrus reticulata, belonging to the Rutaceae family.
The essential oil of Red Mandarin is obtained from the cold pressing of the fruit's peel and has a yellow-orange color with a sweet, intense, slightly citrusy aroma. In Chinese medicine, it has traditionally been used to calm the mind and relax the body. It combines well with nutmeg, lemon, bergamot, lemon verbena, orange, and grapefruit.
