Packaging: 10ml (or 50ml) containing 100% Edible Mugwort Essential Oil
(The price includes VAT.)
Mugwort (scientific name: Artemisia vulgaris) essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the common mugwort plant.
The oil is a convenient, yellowish to greenish liquid with a mild aroma. It dissolves easily in alcohol (ethanol), vegetable oils, and other essential oils, but does not dissolve well in water. Mugwort essential oil contains over 100 flavorful compounds, with key constituents including 1,8-cineole, α- and β-thujone, and pinene.
Historically, mugwort has been used for medicinal, ritualistic, magical, and aphrodisiac purposes. Its appetite-stimulating and digestive properties are still valued today. In cases involving gallbladder issues, it can stimulate bile flow, which may have positive effects. It is also used for epileptic seizures and menstrual discomfort. Additionally, mugwort is known for its insect-repelling effects, particularly against intestinal parasites. When mixed with fatty oils (e.g., almond oil), it produces a product that helps protect the skin from parasites.
In aromatherapy, mugwort is primarily used in essential oils to enhance decision-making capabilities and concentration.
The essential oil is also utilized in perfumery for creating natural scents and can be found in insect repellent sprays.
Mugwort Essential Oil blends well with: Tea Tree, Citronella, Lavender, Sage, Ginger, Sandalwood, and Basil.
Warning: Mugwort should be avoided by pregnant or nursing women, children, and individuals with epilepsy.
