Cinnamon has been a highly valued commodity since ancient times and is one of the most recognizable aromas in the world. Its therapeutic properties have been documented in ancient Egyptian medical texts dating back to 1550 BC, containing over 700 remedies for various ailments, such as respiratory infections (flu, cough, cold), digestive issues, viruses, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, ulcers, inflammation, poor blood circulation, rheumatism, and warts.
Modern scientific research has confirmed the therapeutic properties of this plant. The compound cinnamaldehyde is the main component in the oil derived from the leaves.
