Vitamin A (or Retinol) exhibits strong anti-aging properties, as it appears to activate the production of elastin and collagen in the dermis—the connective tissue that supports the skin and connects it to the subcutaneous fat. The dermis contains a network of elastic fibers that determines the skin's elasticity quality. The reduction of wrinkle intensity and the increase in blood circulation to the skin (making it appear "fresher") are indicators of Vitamin A's effects.

Vitamin A also has strong regenerative action. You will find it in numerous pharmacy products recommended for acne, blackheads, and the healing of skin wounds and scars.
