Rosalina essential oil is derived from the distillation of the leaves of the tree known scientifically as Melaleuca ericifolia, which belongs to the same family as tea tree oil. This tree reaches a height of 9 meters, is resilient to harsh weather conditions, and is native to the coastal areas of Australia. It was first described in 1797 by the British botanist James Edward Smith but has been used for hundreds of years by the indigenous people of Australia, who discovered its antiseptic properties. The essential oil has a mild, sweet, woody aroma reminiscent of rose.

Rosalina essential oil contains a significant amount of linalool (35-55%), which makes it a useful disinfectant and a gentle natural remedy for infections. It is commonly recommended for treating bacterial infections, fungal infections, respiratory infections, and as a topical antiseptic for skin areas needing disinfection. It is suitable for skin with cuts, scrapes, irritations, or acne, as it disinfects without drying out the skin. It can also be used as a mild antiseptic hand cleaner for children. Additionally, it helps with nasal and respiratory decongestion when inhaled or used as a massage oil on the upper chest.
